Monthly Service Offering 2025 Nominations

One important way First UU lives its mission to do justice is through our Monthly Special Offerings. These offerings are collected during service(s) on the second Sunday of the month. Each Member of First UU may nominate a nonprofit social justice organization that promotes our UU values in the larger community. To nominate an organization, please complete this form. Nomination forms must be received by Thursday, December 5, 2024.

Responsibilities of being a nominator.

If the organization you nominate is selected for the offering, it is expected that you will:

Provide proof of the organization’s 501(c)(3) tax status.

Write an article for the newsletter and an announcement for the weekly Order of Service about the organization during your assigned month.

Testify to the congregation about the organization for 2 minutes during Sunday service on the day of the offering (a representative from the organization may substitute for you). OR you may use a short 2 minute prepared video about the organization. Total presentation time is 2 minutes.

Invite a representative of the organization to be available in the Gallery on the day of the offering to provide further information.
